" A lot has been done to this Victorian cottage set in the village of Ditton. Nice carpets laid throughout, wall and floor units in the kitchen replaced and a white bathroom suite installed. All of the bedrooms are of a good size, even the attic room would accommodate a double bed and the view to the back is to the recreation ground beyond the rear garden, which is over a 100’ long. There is lots of scope in this garden to make it a multi feature area, one space to sit in, another to grow some vegetables or maybe just have a little set aside to attract all the local ‘fauna and flora’, why not plant a ‘buddleia’ tree and see the butterflies just flock around it. The property still has lots of original features check out the ‘ducks nest’ fireplaces in the bedrooms, the doors and the skirtings. In fact the attic room measures 18’1 x 11’ at its widest, so it has so many potential uses such as a playroom for young children, an office space for dad or just a great spare room for guests when they come to stay. The village itself has an excellent junior school, which is about 400 yards away. There is even a local shop just approximately 50 yards away, so no need to run out of milk, bread or sugar and those essentials. You would never get rooms of this size with a modern home or a garden like it and this really would make an excellent home.

As the daughter said to me at the valuation of this property, “its so nice to see the original features still in place, wide skirting boards, cupboards to the side of the fireplace, the doors still with the original brass door knobs and even a fireplace to themselves in the bedrooms. But I would personally like to open up the fireplace in the lounge and perhaps put in a ‘wood burning’ stove or even take up the carpets and go back to the original floorboards, they look so nice stripped and polished. They just don’t build them like this anymore and where would you get a garden at this length in a modern house.”
