RED COURT This curious, imposing and intriguing residence at the top of The Esplanade, commands a great sweeping view of the hills above Burniston and Cloughton, past the castle and old town, the harbour and bay round to Filey Brig. In 1905 it was bought by Scarborough's most celebrated resident Alfred Shuttleworth who later went on to present the town with the imposing South Cliff clocktower to celebrate the coronation of King George V.
