" A delightful and spacious early 19th century Georgian house, originally a vicarage, which has since 1982 been a house and corporate headquarters. Fortunately many of the original architectural features that give the house such character remain. Through six panel front door with glazed side screen to entrance lobby with large understairs hanging cupboard. The staircase hall with galleried landing is the hub of the house, leading to all the well proportioned reception rooms, kitchen and conservatory. The ambience of Waltham Grange is light and spacious. Main features include a south facing drawing room with mahogany fire surround with inset wood burning stove, excellent dining room with low window sill and shutters giving ranging views of the gardens and open farmland beyond. The bespoke kitchen by cabinet makers Watts & Wright is resplendent in light wood with corian work surface and tiled floor. The conservatory, built in 1991 only enhances the enjoyment of the gardens, with new internal blinds and French windows that open to the terrace. The service wing/cottage demonstrates the flexibility of the accommodation of Waltham Grange, being able to be incorporated into the main house for overspill of Christmas or holidays, though being independent it can as easily be used for dependent relatives, income, teenage children or an au-pair. The property is approached through electronically operated gates over a gravel driveway with deep grass verges. The drive continues past the two large garages and circumnavigates the substantial laurel island with secret garden terminating in a generous parking sweep at the front of the house. The gardens are a delightful feature, with a wide expanse of lawn, interspersed with a good range of mature specimen trees and shrubs. From the conservatory there is a large south facing garden terrace that runs the full length of the rear of the house. For shelter from the summer sun there is an arbor with wisteria and various climbing shrubs with twisted brick and timber piers. The main area of garden has several points of interest including water features and private sitting areas which are protected from the main view. At the southern end of the garden is a pedestrian gate that gives access to a footpath with excellent local walks. One of the benefits of an established and well stocked garden is the prescribed walk which gives views of all the display beds and well kept topiary. There are many established specimen trees including home oak, horse chestnut, silver birch. The main terrace at the back of the house has a balustrade and outdoor power points. "
