" The Philip James Partnership are proud to present this immaculate two bedroom apartment which is situated within the popular location of South Reddish. It is located close to all major transport links as well as being only a short distance from Stockport town centre. The property comprises of: lounge, kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. LOCAL AREA INFORMATION A suburb of Stockport, located within a mile from the town centre and historically known for it's Cotton Mills built by Sir William Henry Houldsworth in the 1800s.
It was the conversion of these Mills (Houldsworth, Victoria and currently Elisabeth Mill) to commercial and more importantly residential apartments, that has firmly established Reddish on the South Manchester lettings map. What began as an 'affordable housing' scheme supported by Northern Counties Housing Association for local residents, has evolved into a multi million pound re-development catering to a wider range of tenants with luxury penthouses now complimenting more affordable studio's, one and two bed apartments.
This has naturally had an effect on the local area, local businesses, property prices and transport networks. The extra demand placed on local roads, led to the introduction of SEMMS (South East Manchester Multi Modal Study) and ultimately the revision of local highways to ease congestion.
CONTINUED These new tenants coming into the area soon discovered Reddish has much more to offer than simply housing. Its close proximity to both Stockport and Manchester meant commuters had easy access to work; and for those travelling further afield motorway access within half a mile was equally popular, as is the local train station offering services to both Stockport and Manchester.
As well as a number of already popular local parks, Reddish Vale is a highlight for walkers, nature enthusiasts and always a popular choice for school trips! With a large expanse of open water, fields and protected wildlife it's easy to see why and well worth a visit.
As a more diverse social demographic populated the area, local businesses responded with bars and restaurants rebranded/ refurbished to cater for the new demand of affluent overspill from The Didsbury and Heaton's; which has also led to local entrepreneurs taking a closer look at Reddish too giving a positive outlook for the areas economy.
Larger company's such as Tesco's have also seen fit to invest within the area, opening a substantial multi purpose store serving the wider community, with the local Morrison's store also serving local residents from the village centre.
