" A deceptively spacious characterful property offering family accommodation throughout with two reception rooms and an impressive family breakfast room, four double bedrooms, two en-suites and a family bathroom. In addition the property benefits from a self contained one bedroom annexe ideal for a family member or rental income. The property forms the East Wing of Manadon House, a grade 2* Listed Building which was built in about 1680 and is reputed to be one of the oldest houses in Plymouth. The house was, until 1995, the official residence of the Captain of the Royal Naval Engineering College (HMS Thunderer) which together with 100 acres and associated buildings had been a training college for R.N. Engineer officers since the 1950's. The site was subsequently sold off for residential development and Manadon House together with the Chapel and Stables were ring-fenced by the Plymouth City Council to protect its delightful setting and historic significance. The East Wing (now referred to as Bell View) has been sensitively renovated with great attention to detail to create a modern family home with a spacious flexible accommodation throughout. This unique property has been well designed to compliment the historic original features with the re-use of materials within the building sitting seamlessly with the new modern design.
