Rosevear Road backs onto a disused china clay
quarry (unused for approx 20years) It is understood from Imerys the
owners it will not be used as a quarry again it is currently used
to store water for clay processing and is piped to other areas in
Cornwall to be used. There does not seem ever to be any activity or

The flooding of the quarry has created a virtual wildlife
sanctuary where migrating birds land and feed on the water area in
