WEST RAYNHAM Nestling in the heart of the North West Norfolk countryside, West Raynham is a small historic village, approximately six miles from Fakenham with a primary school and village hall. The RAF had a base two miles from West Raynham from the 1930s, but this closed in the 1990's and the land has now been sold by the MOD. The church, St Margaret's was first built in the 11th century and extended in the 14th century. It fell into ruin from the 1720s, when the roof lead was removed to help pay for the restoration of St. Mary's in East Raynham, but it has since been partially restored and is used occasionally.
