" This remarkable traditional cottage survived the Great Fire of Eydon in 1905, it's located in the heart of the village which is tucked away in the Northamptonshire Countryside.

It's certainly one to come and explore.Eydon, in my opinion, has to be one of the most picturesque villages in the county. Take a look at the location shots to see what this quaint little village has to offer.

Being built in the 1800's in Northamptonshire Stone you'll see straight away from the outside the character contained within this property.

Once you make your way through the oak-framed front door, you'll notice the character continues inside with exposed beams, stone and wooden floors and deep window sills typical of this period. And those are just some of the remaining period features.

Once you see the Inglenook fireplace with the log and coal burner, I'm sure you'll be able to picture it crackling away on a cosy winter's night.

There's the potential here for you to come in and really make the room rather homely; it would make a great space for the whole family to come together.

The original stone flooring flows through the dinning area and continues into the kitchen. In the Utility there's enough space for all your white goods or you could even make this a boot room; a nice little space to stash those muddy boots away.

The bread oven in the dining room is no longer usable, but is a beautiful decorative feature. If you fancy baking or just cooking the family meal, the kitchen has a welcoming cottage feel to it, in keeping with the rest of the property. It also offers plenty of storage space.

Now you'll see from the interior pictures that the cottage requires a little work to personalise it.

I think its only fair to let you know, but what could be better than being able to make this cottage your own.

Make your way up to the first floor and you'll come to the family bathroom, in which you'll find the original wooden flooring, and three of the four bedrooms.

This cottage was once two separate dwellings which now means you have two separate stair cases.Up on the second floor is the master bedroom and en-suite.

Velux style windows let in plenty of light. The garden, full of colour and mature foliage, is neatly tucked away beyond the brick steps and through the gate.

The private patio area is perfect for switching off from the stresses and strains of modern life and, in the corner, you'll find a brick potting shed. There are some outside power sockets too, should you need them.

Now you may be wondering about parking? In addition to the off-road parking there is also a garage to put the car in. It's a fairly recent addition, but you really couldn't tell, it fits in rather nicely and gives you plenty of extra storage space.

According to the current owner, Eydon has a fantastic community spirit.

Although it is one of Northamptonshire's smaller villages, there's plenty going on with a variety of local social clubs. The Royal Oak Restaurant is highly regarded locally. Dating back to the 17th Century, it is well worth a visit. There's a playing field in the village for the kids, with a football and cricket pitch for the older ones and the younger ones have a play area of their own.

I've included these in a number of the location shots. Byfield and Woodford Halse primary schools are highly regarded locally. Chenderit secondary school scores very well on it's Ofsted inspection.

If you fancy stretching your legs, you'll have plenty of options.

If you take a short walk out of Eydon and you could walk along the old Great Central Main Line - don't worry the line was closed in 1966. If that doesn't appeal to you, you've got plenty of footpaths to explore.Eydon doesn't have a village store, but is visited by a local meat and veg van during the week, there's a village milk delivery service also.

How does this peaceful village location sound to you? I rather like it, can you tell?

Why not come and see for yourself? I've arranged for an open house on Saturday 26th of July.

Feel free to call me for further details or, if I'm not around, talk to one of the Campbells team to put your name down for a viewing on 01327 87926.
