The village is situated approximately 5 miles south of the small historic town of Great Torrington, which is home to Dartington Glass and the RHS Garden of Rosemore, which also has a very good secondary school. It is also only 15 miles from Barnstaple. Barnstaple is the largest town in North Devon and fantastic mixture of shops and attractions, with great public transport.


The beautiful village is situated between Exmoor and Dartmoor, the moors are a perfect location for long walks to enjoy the countryside. Around 15 miles away you will find the beautiful North Devon Coastline, with various beaches with lots to do including water sports, coastal walks, and charming villages. Westward Ho is a lovely tourist location with a fantastic sandy beach and plenty of activities and attractions, also further north the well know coastal village of Appledore at the mouth of the River Torridge, It is home to Appledore Shipbuilders, a lifeboat station and Hocking's Ice Cream, a brand of ice cream only sold in North Devon. Both nearby must see villages to visit only around 15 miles away from the property.
