" Positioned in the idyllic Lewes High Street, overlooking the charming 15th Century Bookshop and down the celebrated cobbled Keere Street. The upper floor views are quite outstanding over the Southover area including Priory Crescent and Southover Church, with the farmland of the Newhaven Valley down to the English Channel framed by the South Downs to each side. The property is in the heart of Lewes` historic core also having sight of St Michael`s church spire and the Round House on Pipe Passage, part of the Virginia Woolf heritage to the east. There is immediate access to Lewes` plethora of individual shops, public houses and increasing number of restaurants as well as short walks to Lewes Railway Station (London Victoria 1hr) London Bridge and three all budget superstores including Waitrose.

An attractive Georgian link detached house in superb private walled garden. The property is perhaps surprisingly on 4 floors with rear extension giving a large ground floor and additional hobby room/cellar. The 3rd floor bedroom has a very narrow staircase but is worth the climb for some of the best Lewes views and the other three bedrooms are generous doubles with a luxury roll top bath/shower room and additional cloakroom. There is a fitted kitchen/breakfast room and two excellent reception rooms, the rear family/dining room having notable vaulted ceilings. There are features of character all around the house but an exceptional Georgian staircase must be seen. The property has part double glazed, part secondary glazed and there is gas central heating.
