" The vendors bought Garden Road 5 years ago, when they were a young professional couple who wanted only the best for their first home together. It had to be the right location, secluded and quiet, yet close to the town for the shops, bars, restaurants and the train station for their commute to work. They wanted a period house but without the upkeep and maintenance of something that was built over 100 years ago and with all modern conveniences! Their wish list seemed unobtainable - downstairs wc, upstairs bathroom, double glazing and gas central heating. Victorian features, two reception rooms, cul-de-sac location and off road parking please, plus a rear garden that would be easy to maintain!!Amazingly a new build developer had recently acquired a row of Victorian houses on Garden Road with some development land. He built two new homes and refurbished the cottages by stripping them back to their bare bones. New electrics throughout and a new boiler system and plumbing; and re- modelled the interior space to suit modem expectations. With three separate bedrooms and an upstairs bathroom. All this was done to current building regulations - compare its EPC with any other Victorian house!! Funnily enough, this was everything this couple had wished for!!

We both lead very busy lives so we wanted something very easy to maintain and conveniently located for our needs.Everything we need is within easy walking distance - shops, food, trains and now schools! - Our growing family is the reason we are looking to move. It is really quiet and safe around here, which is great with the kids; and the parking to the front makes school runs and shopping very easy, but now we need a bit more room.We have had a new roof done since buying it plus a new boiler installed 6 months ago but other than that we haven’t had to do anything else!
