" Rose Cottage is an attractive grade 2 listed attached cottage that is offered to the market in excellent decorative order.

It is believed the original section of the house dates from the 17th Century with the the main accommodation added during the 18th century, the end result being a character cottage with deceptively spacious accommodation. Internally the property boasts a fine selection of period features including natural stripped wood lever latch internal doors, exposed wall and ceiling beams throughout the cottage, windows of historic note in two bedrooms, an inglenook style fireplace in the sitting room and a most attractive ornate carved fire surround in the dining room. A third reception room provides an ideal study or TV room, whilst the attractive cottage style galley kitchen stretches across most of the rear of the cottage with a well appointed ground floor bathroom alongside. A wide staircase leads to the first floor with three good size bedrooms, two bedrooms having a built in wardrobe, all served by a first floor shower room.

Outside, a driveway provides off road parking for one car, with the front garden set behind a low brick wall with a path, edged with flower borders, leading to the front door. The rear garden is also an attractive feature, with two areas of lawn at the rear of the garden, and a large terraced area adjoining the cottage allowing a spacious outside entertaining area.
SITUATION
Washington is an attractive Downland village, set within the South Downs National Park. By-passed a number of years ago, the village has a pretty centre with a collection of period cottages and homes, together with a pub, church, a village community hall, a small local shop, a highly regarded first school and Windlesham House prep school. The neighbouring villages of Storrington and Steyning to the west and east respectively, offer a good range of shops and amenities, together with a wide variety of sports and social clubs. The larger towns of Horsham and Worthing are easily accessed from the A24 and are approximately 15 and 8 miles respectively.

Leave Storrington on the A283 heading eastwards. Upon reaching the roundabout at the A24 continue straight over and take the first turning on the right.
