" A date of 1790 on an internal beam indicates how old the original farm building might have been. Some 203 years later, in 1993, the current owners converted the building to create the present dwelling. Keeping the traditional appearance of timbered elevations on a brick plinth, the barn extends to almost 3,000 sq ft of floor space in a 'U' shaped design around a courtyard. With most of the accommodation on ground level, the two first floor rooms comprise the sitting room and main bedroom with en-suite, both with striking vaulted ceilings and views. With an abundance of beams throughout, there are good head heights and a mixture of exposed timber and quarry tiled flooring. A long inner hall, off which are the further bedrooms and bathrooms, leads to the 39 ft long kitchen / dining / living room which has access to both the courtyard and garden.

Approached by a long drive of almost 1/3 of a mile, there is a wide turning and parking forecourt with gardens and grounds extending in all to just over 2 acres. A row of tall poplars line part of the southern boundary with the remaining boundaries either open or with post and rail fencing, giving the full benefit to the lovely setting. There is a sizeable pond with raised decking and a 'duck walk' down the garden to a home office / studio. This has light and power and an adjoining garden store. At the far end of the plot is a tennis court.
