Situation and Description
Allington is a convenient Conservation village located some 5 miles to the north west of Grantham, 11 miles south of Newark and approximately 22 miles east of Nottingham. The village is a thriving and well regarded residential community containing a range of amenities including a popular primary school, a village hall, and The Welby Arms, a well-known local public house/restaurant. There are a range of activities within the village and a local playing field. Secondary education is well catered for and opportunities include the Kings Grammar School for boys and Kesteven and Grantham Girls School, both in nearby Grantham. Supermarkets and national chain stores are also at Grantham and the Downtown Store and Garden Centre just a few minutes away. Road and rail communications are excellent with the A1 providing rapid road access to the north and south and London Kings Cross via the East Coast Mainline from Grantham with a journey time from around 73 minutes. There is also a useful cross country rail link into Nottingham, from Grantham or Bottesford.
