" This ragstone home has been in existence for over a hundred years and according to the current owners, they are just the third owner of this home in its lifetime. They have lived at the property for the last 25 years and have clearly become attached to the home.Set in a conservation area, this home is not just good looking from the outside; it has had many improvements made to it over the years, some more recent than others. The owner advised me that they have had the outside cleaned and re-pointed. They have had a new roof put on and have added a solar powered hot water system to the home, reducing the running costs.
The kitchen was re-fitted approximately 5 years ago and has also encapsulated what was previously a ground floor bathroom. This has been moved to the first floor, leaving additional space for the kitchen, which is now 18’3 in length, larger than most un-extended houses of it’s type.
It was clear to me that the current owner loves to spend time in the 70’ plus rear garden. This was evident in many ways, most significantly with the external conservatory that has been added. This part of the home brings the outside indoors. It is easy to picture the conservatory as the main room during those summer barbecues or a quiet cosy winter evening, reading a book and enjoying a tipple or two!

Among many things that we’ve loved about this home is the location and the individual houses that are within the road. We have always loved the history behind West Malling. This home was built for the use of the workers associated to the Fatherwell Estate. In the time that we have lived here, we have discovered many enjoyable country walks and have found the local high street provides everything we need. Before our retirement we found the close proximity of the M20 and local rail station very valuable. We sincerely hope that the next owners will be as happy here as we have been.
