" A pretty Grade II Listed period house situated in the village of Normandy and dating from late 16th Century, we understand. This quintessential English cottage is built from a timber framed construction with hand-made brick elevations. The house was restored and extended in the 1970s and now provides a delightful family home of immense character and charm.
The house retains a wealth of period features which include brick and flagstone flooring, exposed oak timbers, leaded light windows, elm and oak wood joinery and a fantastic inglenook fireplace in the drawing room.
The accommodation provides (depending on use) three to four bedrooms, dressing room/bedroom four, three bath and shower rooms including an en-suite, sitting room, dining room, snug, kitchen/breakfast room and utility room.

A detached double garage has recently been constructed with a large storage room above, this room could (STPP) be used as a studio or home office.

Outside the grounds approach 1.1 acres and include an all-weather tennis court. The gardens have been landscaped and are one of the main features of this lovely home. Belonging to the National Garden Scheme, the gardens have been created and lovingly tendered by the current owners for over thirty years. The property is approached via an electric five-bar gated entrance leading to a long driveway leading past the house to a parking and turning area to the rear, this area adjoins the garage and gives ample space to park several cars.
A formal lawn to the front includes rose beds, a wide variety of ornamental shrubs and trees, a pretty lily pond and fountain and an impressive knot garden designed by the late Rosemary Verey.
There is the addition of a herb garden and jungle garden complete with miniature bridge and water. A laburnum walk, a stumpery and a wild flower meadow with an adjacent folly all add to the charm of this stunning garden.
Situated in the west of Surrey close to the Hampshire border the village of Normandy remains largely rural in character. The cottage enjoys a tranquil location surrounded by its own grounds in a quiet tucked away lane on the edge of Normandy Common. The local shops of Pirbright, Wood Street and Ash provide for day to day needs, whilst the nearby towns of Guildford, Farnham and Woking offer a more comprehensive range of shops, leisure facilities and cultural amenities. There is easy access to main routes including the A3, A31, M3 and M25 with connections for Heathrow and Gatwick airports. The main line stations at Guildford and Woking offer fast and frequent rail services to London Waterloo.
