" A captivating grade II listed cottage situated in a no through lane by the church, close to the centre of the town and within a short walk of the surrounding Blackmore Vale. The cottage dates back to the late 18th century and formed one house with its neighbour being divided into two properties around 1976. The property boasts a wealth of character features such as, exposed beams, pane glass windows with deep sills and the original shutters and leaded light windows plus a gorgeous original door with black furniture. There is also flagstones floor to the dining room fireplace. The outer walls, on both ground floor and first floor curve, which we believe was to allow the horse carriages to sweep round to the stable block situated behind. Once inside, the cottage offers excellent size rooms and really does need to be viewed to be appreciated. Briefly the accommodation consists of entrance hall, dual aspect sitting room with inglenook fireplace, dining room which opens to the kitchen and a shower room. Upstairs there is a landing large enough for a study area, three double bedrooms and the main bathroom. Outside there is a single garage, pretty courtyard garden and a useful outbuilding which is also listed. The cottage also enjoys delightful views over the vale and the church.
