Description

"Detached stone house in an outstanding coastal location.

Description

Chesil Watch was converted in 2001, having formerly been used as a woodworking design studio. The property has Purbeck stone elevations under a tiled roof and spacious accommodation arranged over two floors. The house is situated to the North of a cluster of other buildings built in 1823, originally as a coastguard station. The main aspect of the house is in an easterly direction with stunning views over fields to Chesil Beach, the sea beyond to Portland, the Fleet, and hills behind rising to Abbotsbury Castle at 700 feet.

Internally the property is in excellent decorative order, ideal for a family holiday home or permanent residence. The main reception rooms and kitchen take in the delightful views and upstairs are two suites, one with a balcony and a landing with a seating area and balcony.

Outside
From the lane there is vehicular access over a shared drive to parking spaces immediately in front of the property. To the rear a gravelled courtyard gives additional access for vehicles or could be used as garden and there is access to an outbuilding incorporating a store room and utility room. Rising from the courtyard is a lawn in an elevated position backing onto farmland and taking in the stunning surroundings.

Agents note

1. The property includes sixteen solar panels installed in 2011. We are advised that the income currently generated is approximately £2000 per annum. Further details provided on request.

2. The vendors have concept drawings to extend the property further subject to planning consent .

Location

Chesil Watch and the former coastguard cottages, are situated in a stunning beach front location between Abbotsbury & West Bexington and accessed off a single track, no through road.

The property is about 1 miles from the Abbotsbury beach car park with its popular cafe and Tropical Gardens.

The Manor Hotel and The Clubhouse restaurant at West Bexington are within walking distance just one mile along the Coastal Path to the west of the property.
