SITUATION:  Gore House is situated on the northern outskirts of the village of Bradpole, which is approximately 2 miles from Bridport town centre.  Bradpole has a number of period and listed stone properties and retains its own village identity with an active village community, providing a shop/post office, butchers shop, public house and village church.  The market town of Bridport, set in an area designated as one of outstanding natural beauty, provides a comprehensive range of shopping facilities, professional services, primary and secondary schools, recreational and social amenities together with a well equipped leisure centre with swimming pool.  The pretty harbour of West Bay is close by and here there is an 18 hole golf course, cliff top walks over National Trust land.

The country town of Beaminster is 6 miles away and Lyme Regis town and harbour approximately 12 miles distance. The County Town of Dorchester lies about 15 miles to the east, providing a main line rail service to London, Waterloo.
